Photographed in April, 2006 during the build-up to Fiji's general election 'Postcards' began with a vague idea about photographing the Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhry on the campaign trail.

The resulting road trip quickly morphed into a muddled journey through the 'sugar cane belt' of Western Viti Levu, a trip to Beqa Island with the military's Truth and Justice campaign, followed by political rallies in Suva with the Alliance and the ruling SDL party.

The confusing miasma that is Fiji's intricately crafted political landscape does not give up answers easily and the resulting photo-essay is more a record of this contentious dialogue of race and post-colonial hangovers amidst the nation's crumbling sugar industry.
