Photographed in the Hutt Valley, NZ, the exhibition opened at The New Dowse gallery in April 2010.

The images and title from Crude were also used as the visual material for Wellington band So So Modern's debut album with two of the portrait subjects from the exhibition then starring as lead characters in music videos for the band.
