The Candidate began after seeing Labour's Grant Robertson move his campaign team into an office across the road from my studio on Wellington's Ghuznee Street.

Photographed from August 2008 until election night on November 8 the project focusses on the Labour team's push to retain control of Wellington Central but also captures the complex array of candidates, campaigners and activists in New Zealands most actively contested electorate.
